You know, someone once asked the question, "How did Jesus view children?" I thought this was a great question and I think the Bible is very clear that Jesus loved and valued children just as much as he loved and valued adults....take a look for yourself and see what Jesus thought....
1. Children are to be respected
“See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.” – Matthew 18:10
2. Children are examples of innocence, teachability, humility, and trust
“I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 18:3,4
3. Children are representatives of Jesus
“Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.” – Matthew 18:5
4. Children must be encouraged to know Jesus as Savior
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these…And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.”
– Mark 10:14, 16
5. Children must be protected from the evils of the world
“If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” – Matthew 18:6
